My girls love to color and have been coloring since they could hold a crayon. My son never tried coloring so a year ago I tried to nudge him to color and his reply was “I don’t know how to draw!!” And he refused to pick up a crayon.
No one knows how to draw before they pick up a crayon. No one knows how to be kind to someone who hurt them until they try. No one knows how to build a photography business until they study, learn, do.
Sometimes the only thing holding us back from progress is ourselves. It’s scary to fail. It’s hard get out of our comfort zone. I had a mini (or sometimes full out) panic attack before every single session my first year doing photography. It’s so scary to do something new. But the only way I could be where I’m at now is by trying, failing, persisting, learning, and doing a little better each time.
Progress is hard. Painful sometimes. But oh the joy and fulfillment it brings is so worth it.
